Board of Directors

N. Chandrasekaran

Mr N. Chandrasekaran is the Chairman of the Board of Tata Sons, the holding company and promoter of all Tata Group companies.  He also chairs the Boards of several group operating companies, including Tata Motors, Tata Power, Air India, Tata Chemicals, Tata Consumer Products, Indian Hotels and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).  He joined the Board of Tata Electronics in May 2024.

His appointment as Chairman of Tata Sons, followed a 30-year business career at TCS.  He rose through the ranks at TCS to become the CEO of the leading global IT solution and consulting firm.

Mr N. Chandrasekaran is on the International Advisory Council of Singapore’s Economic Development Board, Mitsubishi's International Advisory Committee and on the Board of Governors of New York Academy of Sciences.  He is the Co-Chair of the India US CEO Forum.

In 2022, he was conferred the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian awards in the field of Trade and Industry.  In 2023, he was conferred the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, the highest civilian award of France, in recognition of his contributions towards strengthening the trade relationship between India and France.

He is also the author of Bridgital Nation, a groundbreaking book on harnessing technological disruptions to bring Indians closer to their dreams.

Dr Randhir Thakur

Dr Randhir Thakur joined Tata Electronics Private Limited as the CEO & MD in April 2023.  He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Tata Electronics from April 2021.  Dr Thakur has over 40 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including global manufacturing, research and development and profitable P&L management.

Dr Thakur was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2013 and holds more than 300 patents.  He has extensive experience in product development, joint venture and M&A management, process technology equipment, ecosystem leadership and tight customer - ecosystem partner collaboration.

Prior to joining Tata Electronics, Dr Thakur held several leadership roles at Intel.  Most recently, he was the President of Intel Foundry Services where he launched and led the development and growth of one of Intel’s most important new businesses.  Before that, he was the Corporate Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Intel Corp. responsible for Intel’s global supply chain, driving ecosystem engagement across technology, design, manufacturing, and product supply chains.

Previously, Dr Thakur served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Silicon Systems Group at Applied Materials Inc. Before joining Applied Materials in 2008, Dr Thakur served as Executive Vice President at SanDisk Corp.; the General Manager at Steag Electronic Systems AG and held various technical leadership positions at Micron Technology Inc.

Dr Thakur holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India; a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada; and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma.

Banmali Agrawala

Mr Banmali Agrawala is currently a Senior Advisor at Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.  He joined Tata Sons Private Limited as President, Infrastructure, Defence & Aerospace in October 2017, in his second tenure with the Group.

In his earlier role, at GE, he was the President and CEO - South Asia, where he was responsible for the company’s operations in the South Asia region.  Prior to GE, he was Executive Director (Business Development & Strategy) and a member of the Board of Tata Power.  A veteran in the Energy domain, Mr Agrawala has over 30 years of global experience.

Within the Tata Group, he is the Chairman of companies like Tata Advanced Systems Pvt. Ltd., Tata Housing Development Company, Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited and is on the Board of Tata Medical & Diagnostics Limited.  He is a member of the Board of Directors at Pratham Education Foundation.  Mr Agrawala is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Mangalore University and an alumnus of the Advanced Management Programme of Harvard Business School.

R. Vivekanandah

Mr R. Vivekanandah is an engineer by qualification, and he started his career in 1981 and joined Titan in 1989 as a maintenance engineer.  Over the years, he progressed to the position of Plant Engineering Head and then went on to become the CEO and Wholetime Director of Titan Engineering & Automation Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of Titan) in April 2015.

He joined the Board of Tata Electronics Pvt. Ltd. in July 2020 and played a key role in building the organisation and setting up the manufacturing facility at Hosur.  During his stint at Titan, Mr Vivekanandah was solely responsible for creating and nurturing the automation business in Titan from an in-house machine-building unit that was catering to just Titan’s manufacturing plants to one that focused exclusively on the machine-building business.

During his stint as the CEO, Titan Engineering & Automation Limited grew threefold while remaining profitable.  Mr Vivekanandah is a member of the Board of Studies in the Robotics and Automation Department at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
